Square Enix revealed during Sony's State of Play livestream on Thursday a trailer for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final game in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, and it reveals that the game will launch on April 8 simultaneously for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The video also confirms the full party, including playable Cid and Vincent:
The livestream previewed travel via the Highwind airship and the Chocobo partner Piko in a second video. The game will feature Fits, which can transform characters into different traditional Final Fantasy jobs, including Warrior, Knight, Black Mage, and Summoner. Players can control any character at any time during exploration. The stream also highlighted the nation of Wutai. The video teased stories from other games in the Final Fantasy VII compilation.
The game will also feature the Weapons bosses: Ruby Weapon, Emerald Weapon, and Ultima Weapon.
Naoki Hamaguchi previously said at this year's Summer Games Fest on June 5 when first announcing the game that the theme of the title is "resolve," as Cloud and his companions find their resolve to go to their final battle.
Square Enix released the Final Fantasy VII Remake game on PlayStation 4 in April 2020 after a delay from March 2020. The game was a PlayStation exclusive until April 2021. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth debuted worldwide in February 2024 on two discs for PS5. The game then launched on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in January 2025. The game launched for Switch 2, Xbox X|S, and Xbox on PC on June 3.
