The official X (formerly Twitter) account for Kadokawa's Comic Gene magazine announced on Monday that Arata Aki will launch a new manga titled Enma Note: Jigoku Idol Project (Enma Note: Hell Idol Project) in the October issue on Tuesday.
The story follows the overworked denizens of hell, whose workload increases after a certain death. In order to reinvigorate the residents, idol auditions are held for the young men of hell to inspire "hope."
Aki launched the Kawaii Sekai Seifuku (Cute World Domination) in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Gene magazine in April 2022. Kadokawa shipped the first compiled book volume in November 2022.
Aki ended the A Destructive God Sits Next to Me (Boku no Tonari ni Ankoku Hakaishin ga Imasu.) manga in April 2020. Aki launched the manga in Monthly Comic Gene in January 2013. Kadokawa shipped 12 compiled book volumes for the manga.
The 12-episode television anime adaptation of the series premiered in January 2020. The series is a Crunchyroll co-production, and the company streamed the series as it aired.
