Pokémon Developer Game Freak Announces Ame nochi Hare Onna Mobile Game

GAME FREAK Inc. announced on Monday a new mobile game titled Ame nochi Hare Onna (Girl After the Rain), which will launch for iOS and Android in Japan this winter. The company revealed the game's teaser promotional video, key visual, and main character and cast members. 

Hiyori Kōno will voice the game's main character Himawari Harewatari, a Hare-onna (Sunny Girl) magical girl who transforms the weather into power to brighten people's spirits. Aki Minamino designed the character.

Yuki Nagano will voice Pon Arai, a Tanuki-type (raccoon dog) divine messenger called "Kumorin" that grants power to a Hare-onna magical girl as their partner. Kyōko Abe designed the character.

Mirika Kawa will voice the Hare-onna magical girl Yūri Amanohara, and Ayaka Fujimoto will voice her Kitsune-type (fox) Kumorin partner Kon Oribe.

Chinatsu Hirose will voice the Hare-onna magical girl Izu Shinotsuki, and Momoka Tsuji will voice her Nezumi-type (mouse) Kumorin partner Chuchu Yumekawa.

The game's livestream also introduced the "Machine Sentakki," the mysterious truck that lends its power to the Hare-onna magical girl. GAME FREAK's Ken Sugimori designed "Machine Sentakki."

The game has the tagline, "Tomorrow's weather will become magic." In the game, real-time weather forecasts across Japan will be integrated, which affects different aspects of the game, giving a different gaming experience every day. 

Shigeru Oomori (Pokémon Pokopia game concept and senior director) is the new game's director and producer, and Katsunori Suginaka is the scenario director. GAME FREAK is collaborating with CHRONOGATE to develop the game. 

GAME FREAK is best-known as the developers of the Pokémon franchise games. The studio launched the Beast of Reincarnation game for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam on August 4.
