Class Isn't Over Yet as Kill Blue is Renewed for Season 2

Creator Tadatoshi Fujimaki Shares a New Hand-Drawn Illustration Ahead of Anime Expo to Mark the News

LOS ANGELES, June 27, 2026 — Following the broadcast of Episode 12, the Season 1 finale of KILL BLUE, DMM.com today revealed that a second season of the anime based on Tadatoshi Fujimaki's Weekly Shonen Jump manga is now in production.

To mark the news, original creator Tadatoshi Fujimaki, known for Kuroko's Basketball and ROBOT×LASERBEAM, provided a hand-drawn illustration depicting protagonist Juzo Ogami, captioned "Season 2 confirmed!!," along with a comment.

Comment from original creator Tadatoshi Fujimaki:

"Thanks to all your support, Season 2 has been officially confirmed! Huge thanks to everyone involved in the anime production, and to all the fans who cheered us on along the way. Specific details on the timing and content haven't been finalized yet, but I'm hoping it'll be another laid-back, fun-filled KILL BLUE that you can kick back and enjoy, just like Season 1. So please, sit back, relax, and stay tuned!"

Praised for its blend of action and comedy, this "second chance at youth" series was one of the spring season's most talked-about debuts, and the energy carries into Anime Expo with the franchise's official panel, "Shonen Jump Anime 'KILL BLUE' – Special Homeroom –."

The panel takes place Friday, July 3 at 12:00 p.m. PT in the Platinum Ballroom at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live. In a rare treat, creator Tadatoshi Fujimaki will attend in person for a live illustration demo, joined on stage by Weekly Shonen Jump editor Harumi Sugiura and DMM.com chief producer Noboru Yamada for a wide-ranging conversation on the franchise, its characters, and what's ahead. Fujimaki will also take part in an official AX autograph session.

SERIES SYNOPSIS

A legendary assassin at 39. Starting over... as a middle schooler.

Juzo Ogami is a legendary hitman who has never failed an assignment, no matter how impossible. One day, after wiping out a powerful organization, he is stung by a mysterious wasp and collapses. When he wakes up, the fearsome 39-year-old assassin has been transformed into a 13-year-old boy! Before he can even process what happened, his boss delivers a new order: “In that body, infiltrate a middle school.” What awaits him is an unexpected school life filled with colorful classmates, youthful chaos, and looming danger.
