Valis: The Fantasm Soldier Collection - Updated User Guide Controls & Steam Deck Compatibility
Tokyo, Japan – November 18, 2024 – Edia, Japanese video game publisher and developer based in Hitotsubashi, Chiyoda City, Tokyo, has announced a Steam update for the side-scrolling, retro action game, Valis: The Fantasm Soldier Collection. With the new update, players are immediately taken to a User Guide where players can see the keyboard/controller bindings.
There are also a handful of reports regarding inoperable controls in specific environments. If players are experiencing issues with controls or keyboard inputs, please try the following steps:

If multiple controllers are connected during gameplay, only the controller used for the first operation will be recognized. To switch controllers, restart the game.
If players are still experiencing issues after attempting the steps above, please contact the support email address [email protected]. In the email, please use the subject “Valis – Controls Not Working”. Preferably, for the developers to investigate issues further, it would be appreciated to attach your “DxDiag”. We understand that providing your DxDiag may be too personal, so attaching your PC specifications would also suffice.

Lastly, it was previously mentioned that Valis: The Fantasm Soldier Collection is playable on Steam Deck. Please note that the game is not officially compatible with Steam Deck, and it is recommended to play the game on a desktop PC.

- On the Steam client, check if "Enable Steam Input" is selected in the "Controller" section under "Properties."
- In the Valis Launcher, open "Settings" and go to "Controls," then press "Initialize key configuration" to reset the keys. Please note that keyboard and graphic settings are tied and saved individually for each title.
- If the controller is unresponsive, close the game and restart the Valis Launcher.
- If steps 1 – 3 do no work, please delete the following data and try reinstalling: “C:\Users[Username]\AppData\LocalLow\Edia\ValisCollection”
- In the game, only the "Start/Pause button" works on the title screen, and only the "Movie Skip button" is responsive during visual scenes. Please note that other buttons will not respond.
- If controls become unresponsive during gameplay, the game might be paused. Press the "Start/Pause button" to check if control is restored.

- Enter dxdiag in the run command program
- The DxDiag window will open, please click on Save all information
- To find the log file, you can either go to the game's directory or access it through Steam. Directory (varies, but normally follows this file path):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\(game title)
- Through Steam: Steam game library > right click game > "Properties" > Local Files > "Browse Local Files"
