Hiroshi Kitadani Turns Comic Con Mumbai into a J-Rock Concert
posted on by Adriana Hazra
The Mumbai Comic Con hosted its first J-rock concert ever as Hiroshi Kitadani graced the stage to perform a set comprising songs from the One Piece anime's original soundtrack.

The five song set included songs such as "Over the Top," "We Go!" and "UUUUUS!" It, of course, ended with the fan favorite "We Are," the first opening theme song for the anime.
Kitadani took a break in between songs to answer some questions. He stated that he was amazed to learn that India has One Piece fans, that he loved the energy from the audience here, and that he has tried Indian food on his trip here, heavily exclaiming that he loved garlic butter naan.
While conventions hosting anisong concerts is nothing new, Anime India having hosted its "Live House" concert with artists such as Misaki, this is the first time Mumbai Comic Con has had a live music performance by a Japanese artist. DJ Kazu is also present at the event, courtesy of Crunchyroll, to bring J-pop and anisong beats to the crowd as usual.
Aside from hosting Kitadani's performance, Crunchyroll also brought in voice actor Taito Ban (Dr. Stone: New World, The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten) and A-1 Pictures producer Atsushi Kaneko (Sword Art Online: Alicization) to participate in a Solo Leveling panel and live dubbing session with Hindi voice actor Rajesh Shukla.
Mumbai Comic Con is taking place from May 9 through May 10 at Jio World Convention Center.
