Internationally acclaimed Japanese pop singer LiSA is celebrating the 15th anniversary of her solo music career. To mark the occasion, Black Screen Records, in collaboration with Sony Music, will release an exclusive 15th anniversary vinyl on August 26, 2026, featuring highlights of her musical journey - each song got famous through their inclusion in successful anime productions.
LiSA is one of the most recognizable voices in the Japanese music scene. She gained international recognition through songs featured in hit anime series such as Demon Slayer, Sword Art Online, or My Hero Academia. With her blend of rock, pop, and emotional storytelling, she has captivated a loyal global audience for years. In collaboration with Sony Music and LiSA, Black Screen Records is now releasing a limited edition vinyl to celebrate 15 years of her career, from her early successes to major international hits.
In Japan, there is a long-standing tradition of numerical wordplay known as “gorowase”, in which numbers are combined and interpreted based on their pronunciation. In this instance, the numbers “1” and “5” represent “ichi” and “go.” Put together, they build the word “ichigo” - the Japanese word for strawberry. The motif is featured across the entire release, from the cover artwork to the special vinyl pressing. In doing so, it links the anniversary edition to a distinctive element of Japanese language and pop culture.
Pre-orders for the album began on Friday, May 29, 2026, to coincide with the opening of DoKomi in Düsseldorf, Germany's largest anime and manga convention and one of the most important gatherings for Japanese pop culture in Europe. The official release date is no coincidence either: August 26, 2026, falls on the opening day of Gamescom in Cologne, the world's largest video game trade fair. The event also hosts a wide range of anime and Japan-related exhibitors, making it another key hub for the international pop culture community.
On September 17, LiSA will perform at the sold-out Mitsubishi Electric Arena in Düsseldorf. The concert is part of her EU/UK anniversary tour and follows a series of highly successful performances across Japan, Asia, and North America. The “LiVE is Smile Always ∼15∼” tour will take her to Milan, Düsseldorf, Paris, and London.
