Anime Limited Acquires Original Eureka Seven Series
posted on by Andrew Osmond
Anime Limited has announced it has acquired the original 50-part Eureka Seven television series by Studio Bones, for release on both Blu-ray and DVD in 2016. An 'Ultimate Edition' release is planned.
In the mecha/adventure story, Renton Thurston is a 14-year-old boy who lived with his mechanic grandfather in a backwater town. He encounters a girl called Eureka, who pilots the giant robot Nirvash, and is linked to the mercenary "Light Finding Operation (LFO)" pilot group. However, Renton realizes that behind the facade of a traveling group of mercenaries is a very bitter reality, and that he and Eureka have become part of a terrible war.
The series was previously released on UK DVD by Beez, now deleted. The spinoff film, Eureka Seven - good night, sleep tight, young lovers (featuring alternative versions of the series characters) is available from Manga Entertainment, as is the sequel series EUREKA SEVEN AO.
