Shochiku announced on Tuesday that it is producing a live-action film of Mizuki Hoshino's Fukakōryoku no I Love You (I Love You by Force Majeure) manga that will open in Japan on March 5, 2027. The film stars Kōta Nomura (live-action BLUE LOCK, My Dress-Up Darling, left in visual below) as Saku Wataya, and Juri Kōsaka (The Scent of the Wind, right) as Sena Kodama.
Yuka Yasukawa (live-action My Love Story With Yamada-kun at Lv999, At 25:00 in Akasaka season 2) is directing the film, with a script by Haruka Ōkita (live-action And Yet, You Are So Sweet, Kiss Me at the Stroke of Midnight). Yoshitaka Fujimoto is composing the music.
The manga centers on first-year high school student Sena Kodama who tries to suppress her feelings for the school heartthrob and her senior Wataya, but always ends up getting swept away by his charms. Sena wants to get over her feelings, but somehow ends up having a "try-out date" with Wataya.
Hoshino launched the manga in Shueisha's Margaret magazine in August 2023. Shueisha published the manga's ninth compiled book volume on June 25.
Hoshino launched the Tiger & Dragon series in Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine in February 2022. Shueisha shipped the fourth and final compiled book volume in April 2023. Seven Seas released all four volumes of the manga in English.
