“¡Se acerca una tormenta de verano!” (A Summer Storm Is Coming!) by Spanish creator ohmiau, the winner of the Monthly Gold Award on the manga submission platform “MANGA Plus Creators by SHUEISHA,” is set to be published on “Jump+” starting October 21, 2026 (JST). Providing manga creators around the world with an opportunity to share their work, “MANGA Plus Creators by SHUEISHA” has reached a cumulative total of over 34,000 submitted works and 87,000 chapters as of September 2026.

■ Work Synopsis
“¡Se acerca una tormenta de verano!” (A Summer Storm Is Coming!) is a coming-of-age one-shot set in the streets of Germany, capturing the story of two young boys. It delicately yet dynamically depicts the nostalgic feelings of growing up, and those irreplaceable moments that cannot last forever.

■ Creator Introduction
The creator ohmiau (Spanish, currently residing in Germany) started drawing manga at the age of 16. ohmiau prefers slice-of-life stories and themes centered around a character's growth, citing Goodnight Punpun (Shogakukan, Inc.) as one of His Favorite manga.
Regarding the concept for this work, ohmiau notes: “The story came to me through its final line. I wanted to end with a line that looked back nostalgically,” hoping readers will experience a nostalgic and sad feeling.

It poetically and dynamically captures a moment of youth.
The rich and unique artwork gives depth to the story.
The rooftop scene and the moment they run out into the rain never fail to feel powerful, no matter how many times you read it.
It may not fit the classic "Shonen Jump" mold, but it's an outstanding work that shows the true potential of manga.
