Shotaro Ishinomori's Kuzuryū Manga Gets Remake

The June issue of LEED Publishing Co., Ltd.'s Comic Ran magazine announced on Monday that Akira Miyagawa is drawing a manga remake of Shōtarō Ishinomori's Baiyaku Kakebachō Kazuryū (Register of Clients of a Medicine Seller: Kazuryū) manga. Miyagawa will launch the manga in the July issue on May 27.
The manga follows a man named Kazuryū. Kazuryū's mother, who was murdered, left him with a memento of the mystery of the "sculpture of the nine-headed dragon." Kazuryū becomes a medicine seller and an assassin named "Baiyaku" in order to travel Japan and find out the secret of his birth, his name (Kazuryū means "nine-headed dragon), and his mother's murder.
Ishinomori (Cyborg 009, Kamen Rider, Kikaider, Skull Man) originally launched the three-volume manga in Shogakukan's Big Comic magazine in 1974.
Miyagawa previously drew the three-volume manga adaptation of the Appleseed XIII anime project from 2011-2013. Before that he drew the two-volume 018 manga in 2010-2011.
