Daifuku-kun Character Gets TV Anime Shorts Starting on October 5

The official website for the wagashi (Japanese confectionary) mascot character Daifuku-kun revealed on Thursday that the character is getting an anime series of shorts that will air on TV Tokyo and its affiliates.

The anime will premiere on October 5. The anime will air within the Kinder TV variety program for children, which will air on Fridays at 7:30 a.m. Kids Station will begin airing the anime on November 16. The show will have 12 episodes.
In the anime, Daifuku-kun is a five-year-old boy who attends the "Wafū (Japanese Style) Nursery School." Daifuku-kun is kind and courteous and is the future 28th head of the confectionary shop "Kōfukudō."
The official website for character began streaming a YouTube video to introduce the character in June 2017.
The character also has a third set of LINE stamps as well as other goods and collaboration events in the near future.
