There will also be a standard Blu-ray edition of the title, and an exclusive variant edition sold in HMV stores. The HMV edition is pictured left and have a bonus O-card (the sticker is removable).

Anime Limited describes the title:

"The man who was feared by all villains, and revered by all hitmen—one day, fell in love! When Sakamoto met Aoi the convenience store clerk, it was love at first sight; and just like that, he retired. Sakamoto got married, had a daughter, opened a mom-and-pop store in a quiet town, and completely transformed… into a plus size!

"To ensure a peaceful life with his beloved family, the legendary ex-hitman takes on a relentless stream of assassin attacks. This action-packed story of the ordinary and extraordinary begins here!"

Masaki Watanabe (KADO - The Right Answer, Bartender, several Battle Spirits anime) directed the anime at TMS Entertainment. Taku Kishimoto (BLUELOCK, Haikyu!!, Moriarty the Patriot) oversaw the series scripts, and Yō Moriyama (Lupin the IIIrd: Goemon's Blood Spray, Lupin the IIIrd: Jigen's Gravestone) was the character designer.

Rock band Kroi perform the new opening theme song "Method." go!go!vanillas performed the new theme ending theme song "Dandelion."

Suzuki published a one-shot titled "Sakamoto" in Jump Giga in December 2019, and then launched the main manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in November 2020.
