Science Saru's The Ghost in the Shell Gets New Anime Project

Bandai Namco Filmworks announced on Friday that a new anime project is underway for The Ghost in the Shell (Kōkaku Kidōtai THE GHOST IN THE SHELL) television anime from Science SARU. The announcement did not state the format of the new anime, but confirmed Science SARU will again animate the work.
The announcement was first made on Friday at the Dover Street Market Ginza's open house press preview for the "Geeks Rule" apparel product launch.
The anime starred:

- Hiroki Yasumoto as Batou
- Yūichi Nakamura as Togusa
- Kōsuke Gotō as Ishikawa
- Tōru Nara as Saito
- Marie Ōi as Operator
- Tomoko Kaneda as Fuchikoma
- Chafūrin as Minister of Home Affairs
- Naomi Kusumi as Volgarena Representative
- Hiroshi Yanaka as Vice Minister Ito
- Tomoko Miyadera as Union Leader
- Atsushi Miyauchi as Borma
- Kenichi Ogata as Col. Tonoda
- Masashi Ebara as Hanka Precision Instruments President
- Aya Hisakawa as Annapuma
- Niina Kumagaya as Unipuma
Mokochan (storyboarder, key animator for DAN DA DAN, The Heike Story, Tatami Time Machine Blues) made his directorial debut with the anime at Science SARU. Toh Enjoe (The Empire of Corpses novelist; Space Dandy, Godzilla Singular Point scripts) both wrote and oversaw the series scripts. Shūhei Handa (Little Witch Academia TV series, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, Spriggan (ONA)) designed the characters and also served as chief animation director. Taisei Iwasaki (BELLE) served as music director, and composed the music along with Ryō Konishi (Journal with Witch theme song) and Yuki Kanesaka (Dr. Stone).

Bandai Namco Filmworks, Kodansha, Science SARU, and Production I.G are on the production committee for the anime.
