Hideo Kojima Reprises Cyberpunk 2077 Character in Edgerunners 2

(In)famous video game director Hideo Kojima confirmed on Monday that he performed in the new original net anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. The director said he is reprising his Cyberpunk 2077 character Hideyoshi Oshima, a braindance producer, in a cameo appearance in the new anime. Kojima also posted a handful of photos of his voice recording session:

Kojima made a cameo appearance in CD PROJEKT RED's 2020 cyberpunk video game Cyberpunk 2077 as Hideyoshi Oshima. The video game itself draws inspiration from the Cyberpunk tabletop role-playing game series created by Mike Pondsmith in 1988. The tabletop game has seen several editions, including Cyberpunk 2013, Cyberpunk 2020, Cyberpunk V3.0, and the latest edition Cyberpunk Red.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is the sequel to the first Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, which Studio Trigger produced based on CD PROJEKT RED's Cyberpunk 2077 game. The first series premiered on Netflix in September 2022.

The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 anime premiered on October 20 on Netflix.
