From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman Anime 4th Promotion Trailer Revealed & New Characters

Tokyo, Japan (May 12, 2025): NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan is excited to reveal the fourth promotional video for the ongoing From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman anime. The fourth promotional video features scenes of Beryl struggling with his new life cohabiting with Mewi, acting as her guardian, and the beginning of a new battle—offering a glimpse into the exciting developments to come. Along with the promotional video, additional two character Rose Marblehart and Gatoga Lazorne character art was announced. Ai Kayano will act as Rose Marblehart and Hidenobu Kiuchi as Gatoga Lazorne.

The anime is currently streaming exclusively worldwide on Prime Video and has topped no. 1 on Prime Video weekly rankings.

Ai Kayano and Hidenobu Kiuchi shared special comments to fans:

Ai Kayano:

Rose Marblehart
Lieutenant of the Holy Order of the Church of Sphene. She first met Beryl while traveling to broaden her horizons and trained under him briefly. Her defensive swordsmanship is so refined that even Beryl took notice. With her warm and friendly personality, she's especially good with children and naturally puts those around her at ease.

He has met Allucia before, as this is not his first visit to the Liberis Kingdom.

Episode 7 Synopsis:
Beryl and Mewi have begun living together in the house they were given as a reward. Beryl, who is trying to take the place of her parents, is at a loss, but tries her best to close the gap between her and Mewi. But then they learn that the school where Mewi plans to enroll has a student dormitory with excellent facilities. Beryl wonders which is a better environment for Mewi, living with her or in the dormitory...

From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman is a popular series based on the original novel by Shigeru Sagazaki with illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. It has surpassed a total of 8 million copies in circulation including the manga adaptation by Kazuki Satō and two spinoff titles.

The TV anime adaptation, based on the original novel, has been airing since April 2025 on the nationwide 24-station TV Asahi network in the “IMAnimation” slot, as well as on BS Asahi and AT-X, and is being exclusively streamed worldwide on Prime Video.
