Ronald McDonald House Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana Celebrates Grand Opening of New Game and Play Rooms Sponsored by Bandai Namco Foundation of America

WINFIELD, IL - On November 6, 2025, Ronald McDonald House ® Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana will unveil two newly renovated and joy-filled spaces at its Ronald McDonald House: Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois — thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Bandai Namco Foundation of America.

The two rooms – a Game Room and a Playroom – were completely transformed into bright, interactive spaces designed to support the emotional and mental well-being of children and families staying at the House during pediatric treatment. As part of Bandai Namco's mission to foster joy and community through play, this partnership represents a powerful investment in the healing journey of seriously ill children and their families.

Lisa Mitchell, Chief Program Officer at Ronald McDonald House Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana shared, “At Ronald McDonald House, we believe in caring for the whole family – and these new spaces truly reflect that commitment. The Game Room and Playroom give siblings and parents a chance to connect, share moments of laughter, and experience a bit of normalcy together while staying close to the care their child needs. We are so grateful for Bandai Namco providing these bright moments for our families.”

About the Renovated Spaces:
• Game Room: Outfitted with all-new flooring, modern wall coverings, themed décor, and a state-of-the-art gaming area complete with consoles and systems inspired by Bandai Namco's beloved brands. Designed with teens and older children in mind, this room brings color, excitement, and familiarity to families navigating unfamiliar and challenging circumstances. • Playroom: A warm, imaginative space filled with new toys, books, and interactive features perfect for younger children. With the same thoughtful design and décor, the Playroom encourages creativity, connection, and comfort.

The Ronald McDonald House team collaborated closely with Bandai Namco designers to ensure each room reflects the joyful, hopeful spirit that defines Bandai Namco's iconic characters and storytelling.

“These rooms were thoughtfully designed to meet the emotional needs of families facing some of life's toughest moments,” says Mitchell. “The renovation is a testament to what's possible when purpose-driven organizations come together. We're proud to offer spaces that reflect our mission and values, and we're excited to see the smiles they'll bring for years to come.”

The Foundation is no stranger to working with Ronald McDonald House. As part of their “Legacy Projects”, the two organizations have built a fruitful partnership over the years, including the development of a playground and a Bandai Playroom for the Ronald McDonald House in Orange County, California.

The official ribbon-cutting event will take place on Thursday, November 6, with leadership from both organizations in attendance. Media and invited guests will have the opportunity to tour the new spaces and hear firsthand from staff about the impact these rooms will have.
