Kadokawa's listing of the 166th issue of its B's-LOG COMIC online manga magazine reveals that Makana Watari's I'm Running for Crown Princess, but All I Want is a Steady Paycheck! (Taikouhi Kouho dakedo, Kenjitsu ni Ikou to Omoimasu) manga, the adaptation of Yuuri Seo's light novel series of the same title, is ending. The magazine will publish the manga's final chapter in the upcoming issue on Thursday. The manga will also be featured on its cover page.

Seven Seas Entertainment publishes both the original light novels and the manga adaptation in English. Seven Seas describes the story:

Therese, the daughter of an impoverished marquis, works hard day and night to save every penny she can just to scrape by. One day, she's offered a chance to change her status and situation—by competing to become the next royal consort. Therese hesitates, unsure that someone as poor as herself could ever be a consort, and decides to decline the opportunity. That is until she learns that just being a candidate could lead to a high-paying position as a lady-in-waiting! Determined to take the chance, she decides to go for it. But when she arrives at the castle, she realizes that this competition is way more cut-throat than she anticipated! Can Therese's down-to-earth attitude keep her safe and above the fray? Or will this contest cost her everything?

Watari launched the manga on B's-LOG COMIC in 2019. Kadokawa published the manga's eighth compiled book volume on January 30. Seven Seas published the fourth volume in English on September 8.

Seo launched the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2016, and ended it in July 2019. Kadokawa published two volumes of the novel with illustration by Okaya in January and July 2019. Seven Seas will publish the first light novel volume on Thursday.
