Story
"If I continue to live in this sorrowful world,

Summer, 1972.
A year marked by one of the hottest summers in recent memory.
High school student Naofuyu travels with his younger sister Risa to spend summer vacation in the rural hometown of their grandparents.
There, he hears a local legend about a mysterious shrine that emerges from a lake only during the summer months.
Yet no one has ever seen it.
No one has ever entered it.
A hidden dwelling said to appear only in summer—a modern-day "Mayoiga."
The locals say a creature known as "Susu" resides within.
Guided by the legend, Naofuyu sets out in search of the Mayoiga.
What he finds there is a solitary girl.
The last remaining master of the Mayoiga, she has spent countless years trapped alone within it.
"...Do you remember now?"
Past and present intertwine, along with the feelings that connect them.

The scenario for Be Missed and Remembered: The Letter from Mayoiga is written by Tomo Kataoka, creator of the internationally acclaimed visual novel Narcissu.
By removing the "S" from "Suicide" in its title, Narcissu became a landmark work that quietly explored the meaning of life amidst harsh realities. Through its unique perspective on life and death and its deeply moving minimalist storytelling, the title helped define an era of independent visual novels worldwide.
Now, Kataoka returns with a completely new original work.
