While not as big as AnimeJapan in terms of attendees, event space, or number of exhibitors, Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair (KyoMAF) is still one of the biggest anime events in the Kansai area, and it has lots to offer. Admittance is free for foreigners (for both tourists and foreigners who live in Japan), and the event takes place across a few venues, including the Miyako Messe event hall and the Kyoto International Manga Museum. This year's event took place on September 17-18 (the same weekend as Tokyo Game Show), and saw an attendance of 43,936 people across the various venues (a 19% increase over last year). The event featured more than 60 exhibitor booths. Here's a look at KyoMAF in pictures.
