Tokyo, Japan – Japanese singer-songwriter Yuuri has unveiled his brand-new song "Thunderbolt" as the opening theme for the upcoming TV anime Thunder 3. "Thunderbolt" will be released digitally worldwide on Friday, July 10, 2026, on major streaming platforms including Apple Music and Spotify.
The announcement was made in a surprise reveal during the Thunder 3 stage event at Anime Expo 2026, marking the song's world premiere at North America's largest anime and pop culture convention.
The announcement marks Yuuri's return to anime theme songs for the first time in nearly two years, following "Curtain Call," the opening theme for Season 7 of My Hero Academia.
