posted on by Egan Loo
Hurray!, one of the animation studios for A Few Moments of Cheers film, is planning and animating Wondering Mate, an original short anime that will premiere on Meta Taxi's YouTube channel on December 16. Meta Taxi is streaming an English-subtitled teaser:
Meta Taxi describes the anime's story, set in another world where avatars from discontinued apps live:
Aco, a high school girl avatar who dreams of becoming human, and Bit, an avatar who wants nothing to do with becoming human. A story of two avatars who may be changing, in a world that was never supposed to change.
Yuno Nakahara plays Aco, and Nobuhiko Okamoto plays Bit.
Inu Hirayama, a member of the comedy sketch duo TentenHanten, is making his anime scripting debut with this project. Kodansha's Shunsuke Sagawa and DNP's Saki Nakao are producing.
Meta Taxi is a YouTube channel that streams talk sessions with guests on various topics — only the sessions are set in a virtual taxi roaming Tokyo at night. Wondering Mate is Meta Taxi's first original short anime, and it will have 12 3-minute episodes.
