International J-Pop Star yama to Perform at Anime NYC 2026

We are excited to announce that internationally acclaimed Japanese artist yama will be appearing at Anime NYC 2026, bringing a special live performance to one of North America's largest celebrations of anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture.

Taking place August 20–23, 2026 at the Javits Center in New York City, Anime NYC has become one of the premier anime conventions in the United States, welcoming tens of thousands of fans each year for exclusive guests, concerts, screenings, industry panels, exhibitors, and special events celebrating Japanese entertainment and culture. Anime NYC will welcome 150K+ fans to the show this year from all over the world

As part of this year's event, yama will perform a special concert on Friday, August 21 on the Anime NYC Main Stage.

Known for an unmistakable voice and emotionally resonant performances, yama has become one of Japan's most celebrated contemporary artists, captivating audiences both in Japan and around the world. This special appearance offers North American fans a rare opportunity to experience yama live in New York.

yama is a solo singer known for a clear, ethereal voice, emotionally nuanced performances that capture feelings of loneliness and inner conflict, and a mysterious low-profile presence that resonates with young listeners in Japan and overseas.

After a striking debut in April 2020 with the original song "Haru wo Tsugeru," yama has released a series of hit tracks, including "Magical Syndrome," featured in the Magical Chiikawa special music video, and "Shikisai (color)," the ending theme for the TV anime SPY×FAMILY.

In 2025, yama embarked on the Asia tour "Koshitantan 2025," performing in Seoul, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Singapore, and Hong Kong for a combined audience of approximately 7,000 fans. Following the release of the concept EP "C.U.T" in 2026, yama continues to expand an international presence through live performances and major festival appearances, with Anime NYC marking the latest opportunity for overseas audiences to experience the artist live.
