Sci-fi Mystery Point-and-Click Visual Novel Launches Demo in English
SHIMANE, Japan – July 20, 2026 – TABINOMICHI today announced that the English demo of its sci-fi mystery point-and-click visual novel, Return to Zeroes, is now available on Steam. The game is the highly anticipated sequel to the hit indie visual novel Return to Shironagasu Island.
The game tasks players with navigating two seemingly unrelated storylines that intersect through an ominous, time-traveling device:
Side A — New York: Follows private detective Ikeda Sen as the mysterious Lila happens into his Brooklyn office, leading them both into a massive web of conspiracies.
Side B — Japan: Follows Izumozaki Neneko, a high schooler with a hidden power in a rural Japanese town, whose quiet life is upended after discovering a mysterious skeleton on her way to school.
Return to Zeroes will feature the Zapping System, allowing players to actively switch back and forth between the investigations in New York and Japan to piece together the grander mystery. It also seamlessly blends classic point-and-click mechanics with choice-driven investigation.
The demo is available on Steam for free in English and Japanese, with support for more languages planned for the future.
