WASHINGTON, DC—At their industry panel at Otakon 2026, manga platform and publisher Omoi announced that they have licensed Delinquent Detective: Sukeban Deka by Shinji Wada for exclusive digital distribution on their platform. Omoi will also add 54 titles from Kodansha, with volumes purchasable through the Omoi platform.

Delinquent Detective: Sukeban Deka is a highly influential classic shojo manga. Omoi licensed the series from Akita Shoten in Japan via Digital Catapult, and it originally ran in Hakusensha's magazine Hana to Yume from 1975 to 1982. Omoi will begin releasing English chapters in Fall 2026, with chapters available exclusively through the Omoi Premium digital subscription. The synopsis is as follows:

The legendary shojo crime thriller Sukeban Deka will be available in English for the very first time, coming this fall exclusively to Omoi!

Saki Asamiya is a fearsome high school delinquent imprisoned in an inescapable juvenile detention center. Her chance at freedom comes when she accepts a deal from the police: infiltrate Japan's elite schools to investigate crimes the cops can't touch, and her mother will be spared from execution. Undercover as a regular student, Saki sets off to unmask criminal conspiracies, wielding a custom steel yo-yo as she faces off against corrupt teachers and scheming students. Experience the classic shojo manga that inspired the beloved live action Sukeban Deka series and influenced generations of anime and manga, including Kill la Kill!

In addition, Omoi announced 54 Kodansha titles arriving on the platform in the coming weeks. Early volumes from six titles — After the Rain, Blood on the Tracks, Dororo, nichijou, Paradise Kiss, and Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun — are available today, and the full catalog will be available in the coming weeks. All of these series will be available as volume purchases, with Premium members getting 20% off all volume purchases.
