Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky premiered in Japan on July 6. Crunchyroll is also streaming the anime in India as it airs in Japan.

Shochiku describes the anime:

One spring night, Kakeru Sorano, a university freshman, is dragged by his dormmate Narumi to a welcome party. There, he meets Koharu Fuyutsuki, a blind girl who laughs often and speaks of her dreams; she's practically the polar opposite of him.
From the moment he picks up her white cane after class, the distance between them begins to shrink. “I want to see fireworks,” she says one day. Those words carry a light that Kakeru gazes at directly for the first time.
A girl who cannot see and a boy who has shut himself off—this is a delicate love story woven by two people searching for light.

Joe Yoshizaki (The Brilliant Healer's New Life in the Shadows, Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits- second season) is directing the anime at MAKARIA. Yūko Kakihara (Aikatsu Stars!, Blue Box, 2022 & 2024 Urusei Yatsura) is in charge of series scripts, and Yoshihiro Sawada (The Brilliant Healer's New Life in the Shadows) and Yūzuki Ishii are designing the characters. Harumi Fuuki (Lonely Castle in the Mirror, The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes films, Forest of Piano two seasons) is composing the music for the series. FRUITS ZIPPER idol group member Yui Sakurai performs the ending theme song "Hikari" (Light).

Chainsmoker Cat debuted on July 2 at 24:30 (effectively, July 3 at 12:30 a.m.) on the Tokyo MX and BS11 channels. The anime will start airing on AT-X on July 25.

The anime will have two versions, an "Evil Dragon Unleashed" version that "respects the work's directorial intent" on some of the episodes, and an "On-Air" version that is made for terrestrial television broadcast.

Seven Seas is releasing the manga in English, and it describes this comedy set in a world where humans, catgirls, and similar species co-exist:

Every time she tries to quit, she becomes weak to the cravings and gives in almost instantly. Will she ever get her life together, or is she doomed to live as a chainsmoking slob forever?

Studio Lemon's Taku Kimura (Kairyū to Yūbinya-san, Star Wars: Visions' "Tattooine Rhapsody") is directing the anime at Bibury Animation Studio, and Takashi Aoshima (Himouto!
