WATCH NOW
Tokyo, Japan — Japanese artist Centimillimental teams up with Indonesian singer-songwriter Arash Buana for “madoromi,” a dreamy and intimate new collaboration out August 19, 2026, marking Centimillimental's first-ever collaboration release. The song is now available worldwide, alongside a music video filmed during the artists' recording sessions in Indonesia.
Arash Buana has gained attention for his warm and introspective sound, incorporating elements of indie, folk, and contemporary pop, as well as his delicate songwriting.
Their new song “madoromi” is a ballad written and composed by both Centimillimental and Arash Buana. The song portrays feelings that grow in the quiet of the night, as well as the fleeting sensation of drifting between sleep and wakefulness, brought to life through the combination of their voices and sound.
For Centimillimental, this marks the first time he has released a collaboration song with another artist. It came about after he met Arash Buana while performing overseas.
In addition, this past July at Centimillimental's show in Jakarta, Arash made an appearance and together they performed “madoromi” for the first time ever which was an exciting surprise for the lucky fans who were able to witness that historical moment.
Centimillimental Comment
"In 2025, during my Asia tour, I was asked if I would like to enter a studio and have a session with an artist from Indonesia. That was how I met Arash.
When we met, talked about various things, and I listened to some of his songs, I felt that we shared similar ideas and certain commonalities in our musical sensibilities, and my concerns quickly disappeared.
As we continued our studio sessions, occasionally talking along the way, before we knew it, we had created a song. That song was “madoromi.”
After that, there were many moments when I would suddenly want to listen to the demo we had created at the time, and little by little, I began to feel that I wanted to share this song with everyone. That eventually led to this release.
This is the first time Centimillimental has released a collaboration with another artist, and I'm really glad that Arash is the person I got to collaborate with for this first experience. I hope you'll listen to this song while drifting into that hazy state before falling asleep, thinking of someone important to you."
Arash Buana Comment
"Being able to create a song together with Atsushi was a really pleasant surprise for me. We didn't enter the studio with a specific goal of “let's make a song together” or “let's release something.” Yet, from the moment we started working together, everything somehow clicked naturally. Within the first 15 to 30 minutes, the main melody and foundation of the song were already complete.
I think part of that natural connection came from my own love for Japanese pop culture. The melody and overall atmosphere naturally gravitated in that direction. We weren't overthinking things or trying to force the song into a particular shape. We simply decided to let things unfold naturally. We also kept the number of takes to a minimum and were able to complete everything in just two sessions.
What made this experience particularly special was that we didn't necessarily speak the same language. Even so, we were able to understand each other through music. It reminded me once again that there are moments when you can communicate even when you don't speak the same language. I feel that the music itself became our language."
The music video for “madoromi” will also premiere on YouTube at 8:00 PM JST on Wednesday, August 19, the same day as the song's release. It features footage from the recording sessions held in Indonesia, capturing the two artists as they created the song together.
