Sailor Moon Blu-ray Steelbook Sets Listed on Amazon UK

Amazon UK is listing Blu-ray Steelbook editions of Sailor Moon, described as being released by Crunchyroll. Season 1 (pictured right) is listed for August 24; Season 2 (Sailor Moon R) is listed for September 28; Season 3 (Sailor Moon S) is listed for October 26; Season 4 (Sailor Moon Super S) is listed for November 30; and Season 5 (Sailor Moon Sailor Stars) is listed for 11 January 2027.

As depicted on Amazon, the Season 1 Blu-ray is rated "15" for dangerous behaviour and includes an extra, "Behind the Scenes - The New English Dub." The other seasons are rated 12. (In March, the website of Britain's BBFC indicated that Season 1 was rated "15" due to the content of the fourth episode, "Learn to be Skinny With Usagi.")

Based on the manga by Naoko Takeuchi, Sailor Moon was adapted as a 200-part TV series in Japan, running from 1992 to 1997.

It was followed by a three-season reboot series, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal, running from 2014 to 2016. This was followed by a two-part film sequel, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal, in 2021, and then by a further two-part film, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos the Movie in 2023.
