Steelbook UK Blu-ray edition of Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon Listed For October 19

"Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon is a 2025 recap film that condenses the events of the anime's first season. In a Kaiju-filled Japan, Kafka Hibino works in monster disposal. After reuniting with childhood friend Mina Ashiro, a rising star in the anti-Kaiju Defense Force, he pursues his abandoned dream until he transforms into “Kaiju No. 8.”
The first season of Kaiju No. 8 premiered on TV Tokyo on April 13, 2024 and aired for 12 episodes. Shigeyuki Miya (Onihei) and Tomomi Kamiya directed the anime. Ichirō Ōkouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) handled the series composition and screenplay. Tetsuya Nishio (Naruto) was the character designer and chief animation director. Mahiro Maeda (Shin Godzilla) designed the monsters. Shinji Kimura (Tekkonkinkreet) was the art director. Yūta Bandō (BELLE) composed the music.
Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell) handled animation production, and Studio Khara (Rebuild of Evangelion) was in charge of kaiju designs and artworks.
Viz Media released the manga in English digitally and physically. Naoya Matsumoto launched the ongoing manga in July 2020 on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ website.
